Every work begins with a vibrant dialogue and an exchange of visions with the client. Through a tailored and dedicated brainstorming process, we develop a concept and select the graphic design based on the meaning it will hold within your home. The materials, be they marble, colored or transparent enamel, or luminous gold leaf mosaic, and the colors for both the subject and the background are chosen to reflect your personal narrative.
I always provide a physical sample of the workmanship, which we can evaluate directly within your home or office to assess its aesthetic impact. Together, we decide on the size and shape of the tesserae, all of which are hand-cut from full plates. Whether we choose macro or micro-tesserae, the visual impact changes dramatically, even with the same underlying design.
To ensure perfect proportions, I provide a full-scale paper print before execution. This allows us to adjust the dimensions harmoniously, sometimes realizing that a piece needs more “breathing room” or a more imposing presence to truly command the space. During the creation process, I invite my clients to the studio to witness the work in progress and experience the evolution of their project firsthand.
